What can Nyamera offer?

Nyamera can support your organisation when engaging with multilateral international development organisations. Your organisation may wish to do this in order to find or pursue existing business opportunities; network and promote your brand; or perhaps in order to arrange meetings with visiting governments from around the world during multilateral organisations annual meetings.

Why Nyamera?

Duncan has worked on and with the multilateral development banks (MDBs) for seven years, and has developed a strong understanding of the opportunities these institutions hold for development organisations. He has attended six African Development Bank Group annual meetings, four Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) annual meetings, three World Bank/International Monetary Fund spring/annual meetings and one European Bank for Reconstruction and Development annual meeting. He has strong global networks with senior MDB staff and government officials who manage the shareholder relationship with these banks. He was responsible for managing the UK funding for the replenishment of the African Development Fund from 2011 to 2015, led international reform of the IADB’s Multilateral Investment Fund and modernised rules that govern the IADB. Prior to this, he worked on UK policy to the United Nations, represented the British government at the UK’s Mission to the UN and was seconded to the European Commission for a short period.

“I was really impressed by everything Duncan did for the Ministers’ visit to the AfDB Annual Meeting – from the logistics of managing the programme and the high quality of the briefing pack; and how quickly he was able to produce everything, meeting all of my unreasonable deadlines and requests.

As it was the Minister’s second trip, and quite a complex one too, it was vital that everything was of the best possible standard to help him both feel comfortable and get the best out of the experience. The Minister had great success in delivering key messages for the UK and building relationships with important contacts – largely that’s down to how well prepared he was, thanks to Duncan’s briefing.

Duncan really went the extra mile on this work – e.g. commissioning additional material from our office in Ghana. I felt completely reassured that he was in charge of all the little details, which meant I was able to concentrate on my core role of keeping the Minister connected to London whilst away, rather than worrying about the immediate programme.

In terms of logistics – I can’t believe how he was able to organise and then coordinate three different programmes all at the same time - hugely impressive. And the Minister was really delighted at how many key people he was able to meet...”
